When we asked Manj if she had any ideas of where she might like to go for their engagement photo session with us, she emphatically said “Pat and I love fish, could we go to the Vancouver Aquarium!!? Would that work?” And we just loved the idea! Since we always love to personalize our photo sessions, we loved the idea of going somewhere so unique and that had so much meaning for the two of them…. and especially since she describes themselves as “He is the rock to my seaweed.” Too cute!! The Aquarium it had to be! Besides… we’re pretty keen on the belugas ourselves! We spent part of their session in the Aquarium and although our aim was of course, to take lovely photos, it was to give them a great experience. It makes us smile because we know how much these photographs will mean to them. :-)

We spent a lot of our time at the beluga tank! Of course! These belugas are such beautiful and smart creatures who turned out to be really curious of us, which was fun. I’m not sure if we were watching them or is they were watching us!

Pat is originally from Mauritius, so he is really happiest near tropical fish…. and Manj at his side. I now that sounded cheesy, but it’s true, so does that make it still cheesy or not?!

While we preparing for a portrait in front of the tank and the gorgeous blue colour, Qila slowly kept swimming by and insisted on being in their portrait too….. way too cute!!!

Manj and Pat we had a great time with you two during your session- it’s just so much fun laughing with you two all the time! We are totally looking forward to your wedding days coming up in the Fall.

Despite Sherry and Allan’s wedding day starting out all just a little cool, gray and wet (with rain), they were determined to have their ceremony outside. Allan’s Dad had told us that he had specifically built their house a few years ago, so that he could host the weddings of Allan and his sister (who is not yet married ;-) on the lawn at home… so the weather was just going to have to cooperate…..and it did! The sky became lighter, the clouds started to break,  the red carpet was laid out and so many of their family and friends could be treated to their beautiful ceremony out on the lawn, just as Allan’s Dad had planned for so many years before.

Sherry’s sister stands guard at the door, preventing the guys from coming in the house, while the bridesmaids wait with not-so-nice tasting drinks. The groomsmen were given wasabi tooth paste to wash the not-so-nice tasting drinks away! :-| Poor guys! But through it all they all laughed and completed all the games and tests and Allan was let in to pick up his bride, Sherry, who was waiting upstairs.  Justin and I just love the games at the Chinese weddings, they can be really fun and each wedding seems to be a little different in terms of how easy or difficult the girls decide to make it for the guys… I think that Allan and the boys did pretty good with this one;-)

In addition to capturing the bride and grooms’ wedding experience, we love to see the parents and other guests enjoying the ceremony. I love this photograph of his parents. It’s so telling of how in love they are after many years of marriage and how proud they are of Allan.

During a quick evening portrait session with Sherry and Allan we found a huge painting inside the hotel which we used to create this shot of Sherry.

Sherry and Allan’s were just beaming as they made their entrance into the Crystal Ballroom at the Pan Pacific Hotel.  These guys had an amazing Pan Pacific Hotel wedding.

Both Sherry and Allan’s parents were having a blast making the rounds around the ballroom toasting at every table.
